Weekly Round-up! |
||||||||
Good evening Resident,
It's that time of the week again where i gather everyone around and tell you stories of Wolverhamptons Police teams and their exploits around the City Centre. So let's crack on and start with all of the arrests made this week by our officers.
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – Once again for the second week in a row our city centre officers have been hard at work and have made a total of 11 arrests for various offences. First off we had a male that was arrested for an assault on a police officer whereby they have punched the officer to the side of the face. The male was swiftly arrested and taken in to custody, he was bailed pending further investigation and subsequently banned from the Molineux due to further intel coming to light where he has spat on away fans. Some of the other offences individuals were arrested for this week were, Criminal Damage to a business, three arrests for Theft from retail premises, one for Serious Assault, one for Burglary, one for DV, one for Robbery and another Assault on a Police Officer and one for an Electronic Monitoring System breach. Finally a Female was arrested for Malicious Communications whereby she has made twenty five 999 calls in one evening for false incidents and general threats to Police Staff.
Community Engagement – Monday morning started with our PCSOs joining BTP, The WAY and the Drugs teams for County Lines Intensification week, focusing all of our attention on County Lines and safety around Wolverhampton. There was heavy footfall due to the location but it seemed most people were in too much of a rush to stop and talk. The people we did speak to gave us an insight in to how it feels to walk around the city centre during all times of the day. PC Moore-Harbach and PCSO Spittle visited the Wolverhampton College Bilston street campus to have a chat with students this week, we find it very important to make sure our students feel safe in and around the city. Team One held a Cuppa with a Copper session at Costa Coffee in the Mander Centre this week, with less than they expected with regards to engagement.
Guardian Patrols – Our general guardian patrols this week were business as usual with nothing out of the ordinary to report. Servator Patrols on the other hand yielded very good results with officers making multiple of the above mentioned arrests.
Night-Time Economy – Friday night started off with Team one dealing with heavy footfall around the city centre due to Wolves pulling off an emphatic win over local rivals Aston Villa! After the football fans vacated the city it was back to normal with us visiting premises with Licensing officers to make sure everything is all in order. Saturday night was somewhat quieter surprisingly, with lower footfall than the night before and not many incidents for our officers to deal with.
Other News - Team Two spent the first three early mornings this week carrying out arrest attempts at various locations for wanted individuals, unfortunately to no avail. Tuesday night saw another busy night with Wolves once again playing at home, they managed to pull off a stunning victory against the defending champions…. Let's see if they can do it again of Friday!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and i hope you look forward to the next one!
